IN MAY 2019, THE 10-YEAR EXISTENCE OF OUR ESTABLISHMENT IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC WAS EXTENDED WITH THE TEAM.

The festive day started at 9 AM with a photo of the entire team. The STYLE CZ team was busy the day before with the preparations for this day. To mark its tenth anniversary, our internal design department has designed a special logo and the management team of STYLE has traveled to the Czech Republic to celebrate this unique event. In addition, STYLE CZ was the first to receive the official STYLE Demo Center certificate

After the photo moment, the first guests already came in full of enthusiasm. The service engineers Ales, Mirek and Tomas have given non-stop demonstrations on the turning and milling benches in the showroom. Thanks to the dedication of the team, two machines were sold on this day and more will follow soon.

“There was a very friendly and energetic atmosphere and we really had a full showroom throughout the day,” says Pavla, STYLE CZ office manager. “We received over ninety guests, customers and partners. We also expanded the catering especially for this day with typical Czech delicacies, we roasted chickens and there was a special Moravian wine tasting with STYLE logo. There were even STYLE logos on the bottles. ”From the Netherlands, all visitors received a small Edam because of the Dutch origin of STYLE CNC Machines.

The day was festively concluded with a delicious dinner and toast was provided for the next 10 years!

At the automotive campus in Helmond we are friendly received by Marijn van den Bliek. In a seemingly quiet and near-empty hall, Marijn shows what lightyear is busy: the development of a solar car; a car riding on sunlight. An innovation where – at the time of writing – only one other company is developing.

The aim of Lightyear is to solve the two biggest disadvantages of electric cars: the range and the charging process. “The car industry did not pick up this innovation adequately enough, so the founders of this company thought: we are going to do it ourselves. The plan was worked out in 2016 and Lightyear was set up, ”says Marijn, prototype engineer at Lightyear.

Lightyear was founded by five alumni who were jointly in Solar Team Eindhoven and twice became world champions with two Solar cars. After these two victories, they could not stand on the sidelines in the development of solar cars. The mission is to make electric cars available to everyone and everywhere. Now two years later, Lightyear has opened a production hall of 3000m² and they are well on their way to actually putting the first cars on the market. With the help of an unnamed Italian design agency, the unique design of the “Lightyear One” came about. The Lightyear One becomes a five-seat hatchback with all-wheel drive and a range of up to 800 kilometers.

Marijn started at Lightyear in May 2018 and was commissioned to furnish the workplace according to his own ideas and insights. Parts are made for functional prototypes in this workshop. In addition to a number of 3D printers, there are also two Style machines: a lathe and a milling machine. “I was really looking for machines that are very easy to program and that are suitable for single pieces. We make a maximum of four different parts here at a time, “says Marijn. “With this in mind, I started searching the internet and I came across Style. After I was with Style and had a demonstration from Ariean, everything met my expectations. The machines are suitable for exactly what we make. ”The reason for having our own workshop is simple:“ We want to keep this technology in-house as much as possible and not just give up our intensive engineering. We do purchase truly specialist components because you cannot be the best at everything, “says Marijn.

The Lightyear One was presented to buyers and a select group of family members last September. “It can sometimes be difficult not to tell exactly what you are making or doing, because we want to amaze everyone with the unveiling”, Marijn laughs. “Fortunately I can spar well with my colleagues – who are all driven and believe in the success of this car. However, you must be a car enthusiast and environmentally conscious. Most of them are already driving an electric car and have solar panels at home. “

Unfortunately, there is no tip of the veil. We cannot wait until Lightyear One is presented. We wish Marijn and the entire Lightyear team incredible success and thank them for this unique view of the factory.

All children of STYLE staff have symbolically put the first pole into the ground on friday 12 april for the new business property on in Bunschoten. Now construction is really started!

After a short word from Bastiaan Clement, managing director of Style CNC Machines, the sleeves were rolled up. About twenty children had the honor to pull the rope to get the pile driving in motion. In a large party tent on the construction site, this (mile) pole was celebrated with more than 50 employees and their families. “I am very happy that we have been able to celebrate this with our staff and their families. We have chosen to let the children hit the ground because the construction of the new building is not only for current employees, but also for future generations, ”says Bastiaan. “This is the first step for the future of Style CNC Machines.”

After months of preparation, the new building of the business premises is now slowly becoming visible. No fewer than 503 piles are being driven into the ground. Very soon the framework of the building will be started. The complete, sustainable business premises were designed by Bureau Bos architects + engineers + advisors and are being built by Koelewijn Bouw, Van Den Hoogen and ITechniek. The completion is expected to be mid-2020. The new building has an area of ​​over 6,000 square meters and will soon not be missed by anyone who enters or leaves the beautiful village!

Schipper Technical Services (STS) in Almelo is a total supplier for the technical and industrial sector with the objective to unburden and support technical companies. STS does this by taking technical challenges off your hands, such as handling disruptions, doing maintenance and producing specific parts to solve technical challenges. Work is performed in the workplace in the field of machine building, construction work, welding work, sheet metal working and machining. Because the work in the machining department has grown considerably in recent years, STS is expanding the current department and in mid-May a factory area with an area of ​​500 square meters will be filled with machining machines.

More work than machines
The machinery of STS in the area of ​​machining is then expanded with an MC-1500 machining center from Style, which is characterized by simple control and good productivity and flexibility. Class C3 prestressed ballscrews prevent thermal expansion for high milling accuracy and the X / Y / Z axis is driven directly by the shaft motors, ensuring high positioning. Thanks to a table size of 1700 × 600, STS can now also do larger work. “We were increasingly in demand for larger products,” says Marco Wolters, operations manager at STS. “In addition, we have more work than machines and we needed expansion to continue growing.”

Good acquaintance from Style
Style is no stranger to Schipper Technical Service Agency. With the purchase of the new machining center, the number of machining Style machines comes to five. Machine manufacturer Bunschoten will not only install the MC-1500 in May, but will also be responsible for the relocation of the four other machines from the current machining department to the new industrial hall. “We are extremely satisfied with the machines and the service from Style,” says Wolters. “Good quality, a lot of in-house knowledge and the machines are exactly suitable for our work.” That work mainly consists of quickly delivering necessary parts for our own machine building and production companies. Speed ​​and ad hoc responses are important here. “With us it is not a pure necessity that the machine runs 24/7, but if there is an urgent need, we must be able to deliver quality and speed,” the operational manager continues. “This is a big plus for surrounding large production companies.”

Growth
Those ad hoc qualities also translate into the staff. Many metalworking companies are looking for professionals and that is one of the reasons why STS established the employment agency Manschap in 2007. On the one hand to relieve customers in terms of temporary staff and on the other hand to increase their own capacity. Wolters expects that STS’s workforce (currently 60 employees) will soon also grow: “With extra work, extra staff is also needed. Thanks to our own experience and experience in the temporary employment sector, we can often provide a quick answer to the demand for professionals. With our new machining department we want to do more work for existing customers, but also bind new customers to us. With the expansion in machine capacity, business premises and staff, we therefore look to the future in a positive way! ”

“If you do more in less time, you will earn back your investment quickly”
Style CNC Machines is exhibitor at the Brabant Metal Days. “The theme fits in with what we want to convey to our customers and suppliers,” says managing director Bastiaan Clement. Style shows a lathe 350 on the stand. This and also the other machines of Dutch manufacture are extremely suitable for the production of single pieces and small series. The software has been designed for this purpose by our own R&D software department in Bunschoten. “Short changeover times are of great importance when machining single pieces and small series. And since the programming time is an important part of the changeover times, a simple and accessible operating system is crucial. Because making single pieces and small series can entail a lot of drawing work, we have developed a control system that intuitively thinks along with the operator and thereby optimizes the processes. Efficiency can also be achieved because our customers no longer have to outsource their work. Thanks to the simple control, operators can get started on our machines within one day and the first products roll off the machine within three days. ”According to Clement, process optimization / production improvement is feasible for every (small) SME metal company. “Our focus is on the” smaller “SMEs. We relieve customers as much as possible and thanks to the reasonable investment it is feasible. Smart applications in our software ensure that the Style controller is not outdated because it can be easily updated. “He therefore advises every metal company to delve into process optimization:” It is very important to start with it. It is a matter of longevity, the costs may be higher in the beginning due to the investments that are needed, but you can recoup these because more can be done in less time. Our tip is: take a look at your colleagues in the market before you do it. This gives you a better picture of what process optimization can mean for you.”

Development new property

The “jacket” on the Nijverheidsweg in Bunschoten-Spakenburg is gradually getting tighter. Time for a new building.

The reason for the move is simple. “It will be bigger, more efficient and above all in a beautiful location,” said Bastiaan Clement, managing director of STYLE.

By purchasing this lot, a special and innovative company is reserved within the municipality of bunschoten-spakenburg and within the netherlands. The new style head office will be the view of the village.

STYLE is a unique company: the only CNC machine builder in the Netherlands. In over 25 years, STYLE has grown into a hard-working, internationally operating company with several branches in Europe. Thanks to the internal R&D department, machines are built of high quality, with our own CNC control being the absolute showpiece. The control focuses on accessibility and speed for the production of single pieces and small series. In addition to the head office in Bunschoten-Spakenburg, there are sales offices in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany. The BeNeLux alone contains more than 1500 STYLE machines. Passion, pride, loyalty, proactive action and pleasure are of paramount importance and are promoted daily by employees.

Due to the enormous growth of recent years, this space is already too small again. The wish was to find a suitable piece of land to cope with future growth. For this, several options in different municipalities were possible. Eventually a piece of land was chosen on the new industrial area “Haarbrug Zuid” on the outskirts of Bunschoten. A new building of about 6000 m² has been built on this piece of land.

The new building will have an experience center of over 350 m² where potential customers from home and abroad can view, test and experience all CNC machines and the unique STYLE control software. The factory is set up in such a way that the most modern production and assembly techniques can be applied that are geared to the most efficient possible internal logistics. STYLE expects to start construction in early 2019 and hopes to be able to move with all employees to the new building on Haarbrug Zuid in Bunschoten in 2020.

The new building will be bigger, more efficient and above all at a beautiful location. The new headquarters is two and a half times the size of the current location and becomes the view of the village. STYLE is proud of the opportunity to stay in BunschotenSpakenburg and to move into a prominent location in a new building. ”

Over the past 10 years, over 350 machines have been sold in the Czech Republic and Slovakia by our sales people at the Czech site. The site is located at Dvůr Kralové, north-east of Prague and has office and meeting space and a showroom of around 400 square meters.

Jan Cepicka was the first STYLE employee in the Czech Republic. He started out as a dealer of the machines. As a dealer, he has sold nearly a hundred lathes and milling machines in the Czech Republic. Due to the great success it was decided to open its own branch: STYLE CNC Machines CZ s.r.o.

The branch was festively opened in May 2009 with an open day. More than ninety companies came to visit. It was a great success, because a number of assignments could be noted immediately.

Now more than 10 years later, four machines are permanently in the showroom, three sales people, three service engineers and a back-office employee.

STYLE is also on the technical fairs in the Czech Republic. In 2018 the team was at the “For Industry” in Prague and at the MSV in Brno. Several machines are sold during these fairs every year.

In addition, there is also an open day twice a year, in May and November. During these open days, the enthusiastic team welcomes more than 150 customers and relations from all over the Czech Republic. Machines are also sold during these days.

At the request of plastic machining companies, STYLE CNC Machines has developed a unique functionality for turning plastic chip-breaking outside and inside in the right way. This will make the chip processing easier and safer.

When turning materials, it is normally ensured that you get small chips. This short-cutting material gives small chips when machining. With various types of plastic, long-term material is formed during processing. These long chips often wrap around the product and as a result create a lot of noise, can wrap around the tool and the product can be damaged. This is something that many plastic processors want to prevent. Legislation and regulations determine that plastic processors are responsible for the responsible disposal of the long chips for products. Most of them did this with their hands, causing many a turner to lose his or her fingertip.

Stutter turning

STYLE has introduced a new feature to ensure that plastic processors can work more safely without getting their hands near the rotating product. This function is called stuttering turning. With this function, the material turns a little bit and the tool is withdrawn slightly so that the chip breaks off. This creates short-circuit material. The advantage is that it can also break radii and sloping edges. This function also makes it easier to machine longitudinal material such as nylon.

Ariean Meinema, our service engineer, explains: “Stuttering turning is especially useful for tough plastics. You normally quickly get long, annoying chips, which revolve around everything. With stutter turning, the chisel does not continue in one piece at the same speed. As a result, the chips break off shorter. So you do not suffer from long strings of plastic around your workpiece or chisel. “

Sizing and printing

One of the innovations in which the customer’s wishes have been carefully listened to is the dimensioning and printing in the STYLE control system. The demand for this position was raised during the TechniShow. Thanks to this customer demand, we were able to take this to a higher level. Drawing is already the heart of the STYLE control, now you can directly add sizes and dimensions to it and even print the drawing from the drawing program.

So you can deliver the workpiece with the corresponding parts – the drawing with the dimensions on it, without having to go back to the work preparation to make the drawing. To guarantee quality, end customers often require that the supplied / produced parts are supplied including a drawing with the dimensions.

Making this drawing in the CNC control avoids duplication. This option offers a good solution for companies that program the machine manually, for example from a sketch. Drawings can also be saved as a reference work. Because no other CNC control offers this option, we have developed this. A unique dimensioning and printing system that provides a significant time saving for every manufacturing company.
